He was 48 and during WWII, he served with the AMF 8th Garrison Battalion-Australian Infantry
He was accepted, after research, for commemoration as war dead on 20/09/2011

Record merged with 3844 PTE George Erwin Faddy 18th Battalion AIF. Cross referencing WW2 service record with WW2 noninal roll extract revealed same Place of birth, and age (by extrapolation on WW1 record). The middle name Edwin is assumed to be a typo in the WW2 nominal Roll extract becasue his WW1 attestation papers written in his own hand reveal middle name 'Erwin'

George Erwin FADDY was born in the country town of Barraba in New South Wales on 6th April, 1895
His parents were George Frederick FADDY & Grace THOMPSON
He served in WW1 and returned to Australia on 20th May, 1919 - discharged from WW2 on 29th December, 1942
George died in Sydney on 7th September, 1943 and is buried in the Botany Cemetery (Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park
