Son of James and Ethel Maud Gellie, of Derrinallum, Victoria.
HIS DUTY NOBLY DONE
OFFICIAL news has been received by Mrs Gellie, Derrinallum, that, her son, Sig. Hector I. Gellie, A.I.F., had been killed in action, on Tuesday, May 8.
Sig. Gellie was born at Skipton and had been a resident of Derrinallum for over 20 years. He was well known in the district and was a keen footballer. Prior to joining the A.I.F. he was employed for several years on Mr G. Cumming's estate, Mt. Fyans. Sig. Gellie has two brothers in the services, Douglas (A.I.F.) and Ray (R.A.N.). Another brother, Gilbert, is on
Mrs Gellie's farm at Derriallum.
