Biography

Leander Buxton GROVE was born on 13th September, 1915 in Crookwell, NSW

His parents were William Arthur GROVE and Maude BUXTON

He was living in Madang, New Guinea & working for an accountancy firm as a Clerk when he enlisted with the Australian Army on 4th April, 1941

He was a Lieutenant with the 47th Australian Infantry Battalion

Leander was Killed in Action on 16th August, 1943 & is buried in Lae War Cemetery - he is also commemorated on the Australian War Memorial
