Biography

Edward Charles HEWERDINE was born on 22nd September, 1920 in Maryborough, Queensland

His parents were Charles Robert HEWERDINE and Elsie Margaret SORRENSEN

He enlisted on 29th January 1942 with the Australian Army

He was Killed in Action on 20th August 1943 at Tambu Bay while serving with the 47th Australian Infantry Battalion in New Guinea

Edward if buried in Lae War Cemetery and also commemorated on the Australian War Memorial & the Roll of Honour at Tiaro, Queensland

His father Charles Robert HEWERDINE also served in WW1 in the 4th Pioneer Battalion.
