Lancaster NN722 of 9SQN RAF was shot down near Leuna, Merseburg, Germany on the 14th of January 1945

Flight Sergeant Michael John Kerrigan 434528 RAAF survived and became a Prisoner of War but died on the 22nd of March 1945 in Leipzig, Germany from complications following amputation of his leg
