Alfred Sydney KNAPMAN was born in Ivanhoe, Victoria on 19th January, 1918

His parents were Alfred Edgar KNAPMAN & Constance Lena CHAMBERS

He married Florence Joy Mercer GAYLARD in Victoria on 24th July, 1941

He had previously served with the 37th Infantry Battalion, 10th Field Brigade before enlisting in the RAAF
