Lieutenant Colonel MacBride was 48 and completed his military career with the Staff Corps Australian Headquarters 

He was accepted,after research, for commemoration as war dead on 24/02/2012

Hemoana William Charles MacBRIDE was born in Forest Lodge in Sydney on 1st January, 1892

His parents were John Charles David MacBRIDE and Harriet Elizabeth POOLMAN who married in Sydney in 1891

He enlisted originally on 1st July, 1912 with the Army and served for 5 years under a Commission in the RAGA and was still serving when he enlisted for WW1 on 11th June, 1917 as a Lieutenant with the 1st Australian Siege Battery - he embarked on 16th June, 1917 on the HMAT Beltana from Sydney

He was promoted to Captain on 10th July, 1918 and to Adjutant on 22nd October, 1918

He married Doris Pirie JOHNSTON in the All Saints Church, Kensington, London on 28th June 1919 & returned to Australia on 1st December, 1919 and his appointment was terminated on 8th January, 1920

He enlisted in the Citizens Military Forces to serve in WW2 (date unknown) and was a Lieutenant Colonel with the School of Artillery, Australian Staff Corp. Head Quarters

He died on 27th January, 1941 at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney of pneumonia and was cremated in the Eastern Suburbs Crematorium (Botany)
