Flying Officer Madigan 408856 was killed when his aircraft crashed on the landing approach to Tadji airstrip
He was flying Kittyhawk A29-1210 from Morotai to Wagga as part of the Number 1 Aircraft Depot (Laverton) Ferry Flight when it collided in mid-air with A29-527
