Flight Lieutenant John Richard Parkinson 411371 and Flying Officer John Macpherson Pitt 401830 were killed when Liberator A72-88 of Number 24 Squadron crashed two miles west of Fenton airstrip, NT as it returned from an attack mission on Japanese shipping.
