Grafton Soldier Killed In Action
Mr. and Mrs. G. Payne, of 93 Fry street, Grafton, have been informed by the Minister for the Army that their son, Private K. K. Payne, was killed in action on August 8, 1945, near Wewak.
Private Payne enlisted in July, 1941, and was attached to the 2/2 Infantry Battalion, Sixth Division. Mr. and Mrs. Payne also, have another son (Arthur) attached to the same division. – The Daily Examiner, Grafton, issue dated Tuesday August 14, 1945.
