Sergeant Pickering 411376 RAAF was killed in Seagull aircraft A2-11 of 9SQN following a landing accident during a training exercise on Lake Macquarie, NSW
Corporal William Francis McConnell 21845 was injured in the incident - he was discharged from the RAAF in March 1946
