Son of Ludwig Henry August Olesen and Annie Olesen nee Bock of York Street, Nundah, QLD.
Brother of John Olesen who returned to Australia on 30 April 1919 having served with the 7th infantry Brigade Train.
Prior to enlisting Oscar had served in the Naval Reserve
Commenced return to Australia 31 May 1919 aboard HT Aeneas disembarking on 12 July 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
