Son of William Charles Stripe, and of Charlotte Rosetta Stripe, of Brighton, South Australia.

A.B. Alexander Stripe, of Esplanade, Brighton, had been in the navy for eight years. He was formerly in the Hobart. He took part in stirring actions in the Mediterranean and was mentioned in despatches. Transferred to the Sydney recently he was operator of the crane hoisting aircraft on to the cruiser. His work had won much praise. relatives said today. Born in Bristol, A.B. Stripe attended school in South Australia and was at Goodwood  Technical School for a time. He played football in the Sturt district and won many tennis trophies. He had expected to be home on leave at Christmas.
