"MR. A. E. COLLINS.
Mr. Alexander Edward Collins, a resident of 85 Pascoe-st., died suddenly on Tuesday morning, at his residence. He was born at Warrnambool 56 years ago, and saw service in the last Great War with the 29th Batt., A.I.F. The funeral, private, took place on Wednesday afternoon, leaving E. W. Jackson's funeral chapel for interment in the local cemetery. The coffin, covered with the Union Jack, on which was placed a laurel wreath, was carried to the grave by the returned comrades. The Rev. L. M. Thompson held a service in the chapel and officiated at the cemetery." - from the Williamstown Chronicle 14 Jan 1944 (nla.gov.au)
