Son of William Albert and Linda May Thompson of Shepparton, Victoria

Flying Officer William Kenneth Thompson 409351 of Number 5 Squadron was killed when the engine cut out on Boomerang A46-48 and the aircraft crash landed 12 miles north of Biboohra.  Flying Officer Thompson died from his injuries four hours after the accident. The Boomerang was involved in an Army artillery direct shoot at the time of the incident.
