Gordon WASHBOURNE was born in Perth, Western Australia on 4th November, 1923
His parents were Frederick WASHBOURNE & Florence Susannah SAUNDERS who married in England in 1918 (registered in Wandsworth)
He enlisted in the RAAF on 24th May, 1942 and embarked from Sydney for the UK on 25th May, 1943
He died as a result of air operations over France on 8th June 1944 - no known grave
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial, the Runnymede Memorial, UK & a Memorial Plaque in Kings Park in Western Australia
