Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Richard and Elizabeth PROCTOR, West Maitland, New South Wales

PRIVATE PROCTOR.
Pte. Charles Howard Proctor (killed in action on April 25) was 23 years of age. He was a son of Mr. Richard Proctor, of West Maitland, and went to the front with "A" Company, 2nd Battalion,  under the late Lieut. Colonel Braund. He was educated at the Maitland High School, and had only just completed his articles with Mr. W. H. Foster, surveyor, of Maitland, when the war broke out, and he immediately joined the forces.  He was a keen footballer, playing with the Maitland Rugby team. Three of the deceased soldier's brothers are with the forces, either at the front or at Liverpool at the present time.
