9th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment
Convery was murdered by a grenade being placed next to him in his tent at Nui Dat around midnight, five days before he was due to return home on 23rd November 1969. A soldier, 61905 Private Peter Denzil Allen, was imprisoned for life for his murder. Buried Fawkner Cemetery Victoria.
