Alan Walter Graham, a regular soldier served in the 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (4RAR) in Malaysia before later deploying to South Vietnam with the 9th Battalion. 9RAR embarked on HMAS Sydney in Adelaide 9 November 1968, arriving in Vietnam on 20 November 1968. The battalion commenced operations in Vietnam on 10 December 1968. Corporal Graham was killed in action on 7 January 1969.
