MOTHER'S ONLY SON

GOOK.—Died of wounds received in action in Belgium, Trooper Fred Gook, 2nd Anzac Mounted Troop, 1st Australian Division, A.I.F., dearly loved only son of Ellen and the late John Gook and loved brother of Mrs J. Jackson, May, Gladys and Vine. Died 7th December, 1917.
Far away from all who loved him,
They have laid my boy to rest ;
In a far away grave he is sleeping,
One of Austbalia's bravest and best.
In that beautiful ship called Rest,
And his head is safely pillowed
On his great Commander's breast.
-Inserted by his loving mother and sister.
