Lance Corporal Peter Leonard Conway (Service No:Q266077) enlisted in the ACMF on 22 June 1942. He was promoted to Lance Corporal on 18 November 1944 and served with Australian Supply Depots (including 32, 213, 27, 21 and 2/245). Lance Corporal Conway was Discharged on 10 December 1945.

Born in 1905 in Goodna QLD, Peter was the fifth of eight children of Edward Conway (b1863 in County Clare, Ireland) and Rose Elizabeth Sophia Haines (b1875 in Somerset, England). Edward immigrated in 1884, arriving in Brisbane QLD on board the Chyebassa and Rose arrived with her parents and siblings in Brisbane in 1874 on board the Derbyshire. Edward (a Police Constable) and Rose married in 1896 in Boonah, QLD where they raised their family and Edward was Sergeant of Police before moving to Brisbane in 1917, where Edward was Sergeant at the Red Hill Police Station.

Peter worked as a Carrier and in 1931 in Brisbane, married Catherine (Molly) Mary Ryan (b1911 in Toowoomba, QLD. Peter and Molly settled at Nudgee where Peter worked as a Fruit Salesman and Carrier. Molly died in 1975 and Peter in 1985.
