Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Mrs. Elizabeth STAGOLL, Scottsdale, Tasmania

The Rector had on Wednesday the sad task of conveying to Mrs Stagoll, Arthur Street, the message that her son, Private Walter William Stagoll, had  been killed in action in France on the 23rd August. The deceased soldier was of about 28 years of age, and enlisted in December 1916. One brother  Private T. E. Stagoll fell in action about 2 years ago, and one is in the firing line in Palestine.
