31 Jul 1918: Honoured Military Medal, At VILLERS BRETONNEUX during the attack on 4.7.18 this N.C.O. was in charge of a Lewis Gun. On the objective being reached a portion of the line was harassed by heavy sniping from a forward communication trench, this N.C.O. rushed out with his gun although under heavy fire and forced the enemy to withdraw. He continued to pursue them and inflicted further losses and thus allowed the consolidation to proceed. Again on the 5th July during a minor operation this N.C.O. pushed out into NO MAN'S LAND and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy and forced him to withdraw. He was wounded but carried on until the situation was cleared up.
