Son of George Chiverton and Charlotte Chiverton nee Remington of Main Street, Stawell, Victoria. Brother of George Chiverton MM who returned to Australia on 4 January 1919 having served with the 7th Battalion, Mildred Elizabeth Chiverton, Ellen Chiverton, Clarence Chiverton and Norman Chiverton

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Served as a volunteer with the Victorian Rangers for about 5 years
