Son of John Kennedy Smith and Annie Lavinia Smith of Bairnsdale, Victoria. Brother of Leslie Kennedy Smith who was killed in action on 25 September 1917 while serving with the 58th Battalion and has no known grave. Name appears on Menin Gate
