Biography

Louis Hugh BRIMBLECOMBE was born on 20th April, 1896 in Forest Hill, Queensland

His parents were John BRIMBLECOMBE and Sarah Jessie WHITEHOUSE

He had previous service in the Senior Cadets for 3 years and also 2nd Light Horse (3 yrs)

He enlisted in Brisbane on 7th July, 1917 with the Australian Army - 15th Battalion, 26th reinforcements - Unit embarked from Sydney on board HMAT Euripides on 31st October 1917 - he a Signaller at the time (Private)

Louis Died of Wounds on 5th August 1918 in France and is buried in Crouy British Cemetery, France - he is also commemorated at the Australian War Memorial

He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal
