Lieutenant Arthur James Harry Harris (Service Nos:121879/Q48167/QX47004) initially enlisted in the Militia on 3 December 1929 as a Private, and was a Warrant Officer I attached to 7th Field Ambulance on 22 September 1941 when he enlisted in the ACMF. Appointed to a Commissioned Rank on 18 April 1942, Lieutenant Harris served in Milne Bay/Port Moresby (12 July 1942 - 18 November 1943), and was attached to 11th Field Ambulance when he enlisted in the AIF on 15 December 1942. Lieutenant Harris served in Madang/Bougainville (14 August 1944 - 9 May 1945) and Torokina/Lae (20 June 1945 - 2 February 1946), and was attached to 11th Field Ambulance at Termination of Appointment on 28 May 1946.

Born in Brisbane QLD in 1909, Harry was the only child of Arthur Francis Harris (b1885 in Toowoomba, QLD) and Emily Maud Hicks (b1877 in Brisbane, QLD). Arthur (a Furniture Packer) and Emily married in 1908 in Brisbane, where they settled and Arthur worked as a Furniture Packer and Dispatch Clerk. Following his Discharge from the AIF in 1919, Arthur worked as a Labourer at Dalgonaly Station via Julia Creek, and he and Emily settled in Brisbane in the mid 1920s. Arthur  worked as a Shop Assistant.

Harry worked as a Clerk and Mail Contractor in Brisbane, and in 1934 married Mavis Vera Rutherford (b1915 in Brisbane, QLD). Harry worked as a Tram Conductor following his Discharge from the Army, and in the early 1950s he and Mavis moved to Brooweena via Pialba, where Harry was a Dairy Farmer. Harry died in 1963 and Mavis in 1993.
