Biography contributed

Private Alexander Thomas Johnston, of the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Reinforcements, whose death in action has been reported, was 21 years of age, and a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Johnston, of 69 Lower Port-street, Dawes Point. The deceased private was educated at Fortstreet, and was for some time employed in the publishing department of the Sydney Morning Herald, and later at Mr. J. Bardsley’s Pittstreet warehouse.
