Son of Archibald and Laur KNIGHT
Trooper Roland Knight (killed in action) was the only son of Mr. Archibald Knight, of Power street, Hawthorn He was educated at the
Ballarat College, and was the senior petty officer of the Ballarat Naval Cadets on the formation of that corps. The Ballarat Naval Corps came into prominence subsequently by marching from Ballarat to Melbourne to take part in the demonstrations in connection with the arrival of the American fleet.
During the last eight years he had been in the service of the E.S. and A. Bank, and was teller (at the Canterbury branch at the outset of the war He was a born sportsman, and universally popular for his manly character.
