Henry (Harry) was the sixth of seven children of Henry William Leeson (born 1867 at Mt Morgan in QLD) and Charlotte (Lottie) Eliza Mortleman (born 1876 in Ipswich, QLD). Henry, an Engine Driver, and Lottie married in 1893 at Mt Morgan in QLD and lived in Mt Morgan, Stoney Creek and Rockhampton.
Harry was a Clerk in Brisbane in 1935 when he married Amelia (Millicent) Albertina Berthelsen (born 1904 in Mt Morgan, QLD). He played cricket in the Northern 'Northo' Club and was wicket keeper for QLD (Shield Cricket) in the 1930s/1940s. Harry and Millicent settled in Brisbane where Harry was working as a Clerk when he enlisted in the Army in December 1941. He was a Sergeant (Service No:QX26264) attached to 35 Australian Heavy Anti Aircraft Battery when he was Discharged in January 1946.
Harry returned to Ashgrove in Brisbane, QLD and worked as a Salesman. A keen fisherman, he was out on the flooded Logan River with Andrew Thompson on Saturday 24 June 1950 when their boat was swamped and sank. Andrew made it to shore, but Harry drowned. Millicent died in London in 1970.
