DIED ON SERVICE.

BAIN.—Died of gunshot wounds, 12th October,
at 3rd Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 
France, Private Roy Bain, the dearly beloved 
son of Benjamin and Laura Bain, formerly of 
Queenstown, Victoria; dearly loved brother of
 Dorothy, Daisy, Stella, and Percy; grandson of
 the late Rev. J. G. Millard; aged 21 years and 
9 months ; after two and a half years' active service.

 But oh, we loved him so, our soldier boy, 
And prayed that God his precious life would save;
And He has heard our prayers and answered us,
Granting him fuller life beyond the grave.
Our dear, brave boy.
