Eric Fletcher Tomes GROSVENOR was born in 1897 in Wolverhampton, England

His parents were William GROSVENOR and the late Ruth nee HEATH

He had previous service with the Senior cadets of 78th & 79th Battalion and was still serving when he enlisted in Adelaide on 16th August, 1915  - he embarked with the 5th Pioneer Battalion, 2nd reinforcements on the ship HMAT Aeneas on 11th April, 1916

Eric died of valvular heart disease in the field in France on 23rd March, 1917 and is buried in Bernafay Wood British Cemetery in France - his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial

He was awarded the British War Medal & the Victory medal
