Had previously served with the 9th NZ Mounted Infantry in South Africa for five months.
Son of Daniel O'Keefe and Margaret O'Keefe of Station Street, Newmarket Auckland, NZ.
Commenced return to Australia on 5 February 1915 aboard HT Kyarra disembarking on 11 March 1915 and discharged the same day for disciplinary reasons.
