Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
Frederick Walsh was one of four brothers who enlisted in the AIF. Frederick was the only survivor, as one of his brothers died at Gallipoli during 1915, one in 1917 and the other lost his life at Dernancourt during 1918.
Three of the brothers, including Frederick, all served in the 45th Battalion from its formation in Egypt during early 1916.
Their mother had passed away during 1913 and their father lived in Forest Lodge, Sydney, New South Wales.
Frederick was wounded in Belgium during 1917 and had several bouts of sickness before he was sent home in January 1919 with bronchitis and myalgia. He was discharged from the AIF as medically unfit.
Frederick passed away in 1925, still only 44 years of age.
