Son of Michael O'Connnor and Elizabeth O'Connor of Newport, Tipperary, Ireland.

Thomas had enlisted in 1915 but was deemed to be unsuitable due to temperament issues. Was issued with number 1301 with the 13th Battalion.

Husband of Alma Madeline O'Connor nee Moran C/- J. Moran, Francis Street, Lidcombe, NSW. Thomas and Alma married during 1917c 

Commenced return to Australia 10 April 1919 aboard HT Medic as an invalid disembarking on 1 Jume 1919
