Son of Lawrence and Ellen Kelly Gallacher of 27 Stankards Rows, Uphall, Linlithgowshire, Scotland formerly of Uphall Station, Uphall, Scotland. Brother of Madge Gallacher

Prior to leaving for Australia he was serving in the King's Own Scottish Borderers
