Florence was born in 1915, the daughter of James C. and Agnes B. Trotter.
14 Feb 1942: Imprisoned Sumatra, Netherlands East Indies - Imprisoned Malaya/Singapore, The SS Vyner Brooke was sunk by Japanese aircraft. The survivors made for nearby Bangka Island, already under Japanese occupation.
On 15.11.1947 in Queensland Florence married Francis Vernon Syer.
