The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 40 to 43 & 276. Prior to the war he was a grocer of Zeehan Tas. He enlisted 8th Feb 1916 aged 20 years. He rose to the rank of Captain and served with the 40th Infantry Battalion. He was awarded the Military Cross for his actions while an Officer. He survived the war and departed the UK for home 1st Aug 1919.
