World War 1 Service

8 Jun 1915: Involvement AIF WW1, Sergeant, ANZAC / Gallipoli, Horace enlisted in the AIF one month after his brother Bill was killed at Lone Pine on 2 May 1915. Horace arrived in Gallipoli himself in late 1915, just prior to the evacuation in December 1915. Horace appeared in a number of 13 Battalion photos as a bandsman, and was known as a skilled cornet player.
