Richard William Bunn was a Private when he enlisted into the AIF as part of the 3rd Light Horse Regiment. He fought in the Middle East.

Richard was 37 and a half years old when he enlisted into the army on 18-10-1915. He was born in Bowden South Australia he lived in Elbow hill, Franklin Harbour, South Australia. Richard was married to Elizabeth Bunn and they had 3 children together. He worked as a farmer, builder and a contractor. His religion was Anglican.

He was transferred and taken on strength to the 4th Australian Camel Regiment on 2nd November 1916 and he was also promoted to Corporal


He broke his right tibia and fibula in April 1917 and was treated, ending up in the 14th Australian General Hospital.  His injury was considered too great to continue serving so he was sent back to Australia 11th July 1917 leaving from Cairo on HT Port Sydney.


Richard William Bunn passed away in Mile end, South Australia on the 31st June 1937 aged 58.
