Also served as Sergeant with 5th Contingent. Enlisted AIF September 1914 promoted Colour Sergeant 16th Battalion December 1914, wounded at Gallipoli in May 1915, appointed 2nd Lieutenant July 1915, later promoted Captain, returned to Australia 1918.
