Percy was born as Percival John FEATHERSTONE in Oatlands, Tasmania on 23rd July, 1881

His parents were George FEATHERSTONE & Harriet JONES (later TEMPLETON)

He married Mabel DORAN on 5th December, 1912 in Launceston and she died months before he enlisted in WW1

He enlisted in the Boer War (SN 307) in the 8th Battalion, Commonwealth Horse and also in WW1 on 10th January, 1916 (SN 5089) - he embarked from Melbourne with the 12th Infantry Battalion, 16th reinforcements on the RMS Orontes on 29th March, 1916 

He returned to Australia in 1920 on the ship Ormonde , with his 2nd wife Elsie HARRIS who he married in Birmingham, England in 1918 & their baby daughter Mary Lillywhite and was discharged on 29th February, 1920

George died in Bordertown, South Australia on 10th August, 1953 & is buried in the Bordertown Cemetery (old section) - his wife Elsie died in 1966 & was cremated at Centennial Park Cemetery in Adelaide
