Louis Victor Johnson was born in 1869 (in His WW1 Attestation Paper he gave age as 44 years 5 months on enlistment date of 2 Oct 1915) in London, Middlesex, England, a son to Thomas Johnson and Julia Johnson (nee Sims). After emigrating to Australia he married Margaret Emily Chandler on 26 Jul 1913 in Queensland, Australia.
He served in both the South African (Boer) War and WW1. First service was as a Private rising to Corporal S.N. 106 in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, Boer War. His second service was as a Private S.N. 1150 in the 9th Infantry Battalion AIF WW1. He was killed in action at Gaba Tepe, Gallipoli, Turkey on 8 May 1915.
