Death of the Rev. W. A. Moore
The death occurred of the Rev Wiiliam Archibald Moore at the Loxton District Hospital on Oct. 5, at the age of 71 years. The Rev. Moore was ordained Deacon in 1909 and was raised to the Priesthood in 1910. His training took place at St. Augustine's College. Canterbury, and the University of Durham. On coming to Australia he was appointed Curate of St. Paul's, Port Pirie, and later became Priest-in-Charge of the Crystal Brook Mission from whence he went as Chaplain in the A.I.F. His other charges were the Koolunga Mission, St. Peter's, Robe, Morgan, Berri and Tailem Bend Mission The Rev. Moore was the Parish Priest in what is now St. Benedict s Parish, Minlaton from 1925 to 1932, where he was highly esteemed a priest of God and friend of man. He was beloved by all whom he so faithfully served. His health had been poorly since World War I., but he was never daunted, and was always visiting his flock in the well-known motor of some what doubtful vintage. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were prepared by him for the Sacraments of the Church. A Requiem Mass was said in St. Benedict's Minlaton, for the repose of soul.
