Biography contributed by Robert Kearney

On 13 January 1915, while on patrol, HMS Viknor sank in heavy weather without sending a distress call. It is assumed the ship struck a mine as she passed through  a minefield laid by the Germans. All  295 crew perished and many of their bodies washed ashore within days of her sinking.
