John was the son of David and Margaret Isabella Kerr [nee Latter]. He
completed his basic training at Mitcham, attached to B Company and later C
Company during the period 25 October until 30 November 1917. He died of
peritonitis at the 7th Australian General Hospital at Keswick following an
operation for appendicitis on 31 January 1918.
His wife received a Memorial Plaque and Scroll on John’s behalf in 1923.
