Son of Tom Burton Dibbs and Annie Hay Dibbs (nee Dalrymple-Hay).

Second-Lieutenant T.G.B. Dibbs, who was killed in France on 26th August, was the fourth son of Mr. T. Burton Dibbs, late senior partner in the firm of Dibbs and Parker, solicitors, Sydney, and now residing in Geelong, Victoria.  The 'British Australasian' of 9th September says : He was the grandson of Mr. T.A. Dibbs, who has recently retired from the post of general manager of the Commerical Banking Company of Sydney, after 68 years of service in that institution.  Lieutenant Dibbs left Sydney and went to Switzerland some seven years ago to study engineering and aws on the eve of passing his final examination for the degree of doctor of engineering, but decided to come to England to offer his services.  He received a commission in the 7th York and Lancaster Regiment (Pioneers) and went to France about two months ago.  He was shot while entering the trenches, and died almost immediately.  He was a powerfully built man, and excelled as a swimmer and wrestler.

At TAS 6 months from Sept. to April 1905. In 1904 he was the Mad Hatter in the School
Play in “Alice in Wonderland".
After leaving school he worked at Mount Ryde, Longreach, Qld and later went to England
from Switzerland where he was in his final for Engineering.
Served in the 7th York and Lancashire Regiment and he became a 2nd Lieut. Served in
France from 13.7.1915 until killed in action 27.8.1915.
Killed In action in France aged about 25.
Buried in Plot 8 Row B Grave 6 of the Voormezeele Enclosure No. 3 Belgium
