Son of Henry Michael O'Connor and Margaret O'Connor of Hill Street, Junee, NSW. Henry's parents were both convicts and transported to Tasmania.

Commenced return to Australia on 2 January 1919 aboard HT Karmala disembarking on 15 February 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney
