Son of Catherine Quinlivan of Crystal Brook, SA.
Brother of John Quinlivan who returned to Australia on 27 May 1919 having served with the 1st Machine Gun Battalion and Edward Quinlavin who returned to Australia on 7 April 1919 having served with the 4th Machine Gun Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 22 July 1919 aboard HT Ulysses disembarking on 30 August 1919
