Son of John and Ann Peoples, of Wooriwyrite, Terang, Victoria.
On Wednesday Rev. Father O'Brien received the following sad message from the Defence Department—"Unfortunately regret to report Private John Peoples, Wooriwyrite, killed in action', France, 24/11/16. Kindly inform, parents of sad loss, and convey sympathy of their Majesties, King and Queen; and the Commonwealth.' ' Private Peoples was the second elder son of Mr. John Peoples, of Wooriwyrite, and at the time of his death was only 19 years. He has been on active service for about twelve months. The deepest sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents and family, who are highly respected throughout the district.
